Leeds bleep-techno legend Ability II aka David Duncan joins forces with Luca Lozano and DJ Steve for ‘My Definition of Bass’, an EP that has been years in the making. The tunes bridge generations split across two sides and The Wrecks side delivers raw live jams: acid squiggles, jacking drums and Ability II’s unmistakable vocals are reimagined into forward-driving rave tools. Flipping things over, the I9M side sees Duncan dub the tracks into heavy bassbin territory and layering echo-drenched vocals and deep steppers with crossover flair. The result is a perfect marriage of classic bleep spirit and future-minded low-end science.
