Alvaro Medina – Monday Disco EP

Madrid-based artist Alvaro Medina is the founder of Jazzy but lands here on Velvet which has done good work with its first four EPs. ‘Yes, But’ is speedy, slick tech with clean lines and hurried drums and JNJS label keeps a similarly flow but adds more grinding bass. ‘Monday Disco’ is playful and uplifting with daubs of synth colour and flickering snares over buoyant drums that are nice and nimble. ‘Monday Disco’ (Djebali remix) is flipped into a jazzy late-night house delight with neon colours. Enzo Siragussa and Raresh have already been banging tunes from this one, so it comes quality assured.
