Alvaro ‎– XTended Edits Vol.2

After his Re-Disco-Ver 12″ with Soulsimmer, Alvaro returns with the x-entric Xtended Edits Vol. 2, groovedigging funk, jazz, Latin and weirder disco grooves. ‘Disco Groove’ by The Checkmates hears a stretched-out resurrection, while ‘Jesse’s Samba’ from The Messengers recalls sunburnt percussion and brass loops into revivified focus. Zotobre’s ‘Ma Le’ sits in a dubbed-out Afro-Latin pocket, before Alvaro rounds it out with a rework of Jeannine Otis & Heikki Sarmanto’s cosmic ballad ‘Magic Song’. The edits stay respectful but mischievous, nudging hidden sections into the spotlight.
