Brussels and Belgium have always had a major say in the evolution of electronic music from EBM through to techno. Parallel Universe is a new label hailing from the hotbed and this first EP is interesting indeed. Bob Stoute’s opener will twist and turn your mind and body inside out with its slow bass acrobatics and percolating arps, then Komponente & Kurilo link up for a bouncy, rave tinged track with plenty of throwback synth sounds and spaced out pads. On to the b-side and Koloniari offers a lithe, acid-laced jam and Jeku’s ‘Cursed Commando’ is a slick, neon-lit techno bubbler.
