Tom Chasteen started the Exist Dance label with Michael Kandel in the mid 90s. An outlet which was considerably responsible for shaping the West Coast underground dancefloor sound in the later half of the 90s. This release focuses on the solo work of Tom Chasteen as 3 different projects (Ballistic Mystic, Skull Valley and a remix he did for High Lonesome Sound System).”Ghost Story” is a downtempo breaky trip hop excursion featuring jazzy and psychedelic samples with tints of 303 acidity, “The Accident of Birth” takes you on a trip that builds up into an electro/freestyle infused sample based whirlwind of dance floor bliss – enormous on a well calibrated club sound system. Lastly, a dubbed out downtempo remix of “Champion Sound” completely transforms the original into a slow motion introspective journey lushly ornamented with spoken word samples.
