Troy Anderson – Waverider

We’re Going Back returns to follow up its assured first release with a second 12″, this time from Troy Anderson who shows himself to be a designer of some super stylish deep techno. ‘Pulse Widthin’ is dubby, widescreen and rolling with fizzing synths hanging in the air over prickly drums. There is a quieter, more sparse atmosphere to ‘Dimode Ice’ with its wispy pads and rolling kicks and then things ate off on ‘FM Machine’ – a minimal and deep rhythm with curious leads and deep space mystery before ‘Doughnut Troll’ gets more dark and menacing. A great EP.
