Voltage Control – Voltage Control 1990 – 1992
The Netherlands in the 1980s was a playground for electronic experimentation, as the likes of Front 242, Skinny Puppy, and Clock DVA all go to show. Also students at the Center of Electronic Music in Arnhem, Arno Peeters and Timor Fulop intended on following in the footsteps of those peers, and set to work producing an EBM EP. But they wound up doing much, much more. By 1990, they’d been credited with crafting one of the first Dutch-made house records, and managed to simultaneously straddle the acid house and body music scenes with much of their work. Always insanely reliable, team Mannequin have taken it upon themselves to right the wrong of the pair – AKA Voltage Control – slipping into relative obscurity with this eight-track celebration of total genius.
