Emi Ömar ‎– Homo Musicus

Electro-funk innovator Emi Omar is a live artist who taps into what he does in the club with this new EP, his first of the year, on the Groove To Grave imprint. He brings plenty of his signature sounds to the EP including vocoder vocals and raw analogue machine textures. ‘Chut Hello’ opens with a lithe percussive beat and retro-future vocals and ‘Primate Groove’ then twist synths and drops in sci-fi motifs for an expressive, unresolved trip. ‘Grrrr’ has a bright and cosmic lead synth line and some nicely designed bass that will get you swaying and last but not least is ‘Are You Homo Musicus?’ which is fine and funky disco-tech.
