Antonio De Angelis – Knocking

Italian veteran Antonio De Angelis is next up on the Key Vinyl label with a quartet of new tuns that highlight his timeless take on the genre. The opener is a straight-up banger that hurries along with leaner drums and glitchy hits peeling off the beats. Eerie bells add some extra atmosphere then ‘Red Snow’ carries on where that one left off with pulsing bass and sci-fi synth details. ‘Kerogen’ is another high-octane cut with vocal stitched into the mix for a sense of paranoia and last of all, ‘Total Recall’ is masterfully distilled minimal techno with plenty of pent-up tension and suspense despite the economical sound design.
