Architectural – Santa Compaña

Architectural is Reeko’s acclaimed techno alias and with this new outing on Spanish label Fanzine he is at his most focused and immersive. Across four tracks, the producer fuses muscular, forward-driving techno with a shadowy, atmospheric edge that managed to be both precise and emotionally impactful. The production is sharp and commanding from the off with the title cut balancing space, tension and momentum expertly. ‘Ensonacion’ is a slower dub excursion for atmospheric moments and ‘Guestia’ is a dark, predatory crawl through dystopian landscapes. ‘Extrano, Muy Extrano’ has a dirty, rugged bass riff and lumpy drums that make for a menacing mood and round out a powerful EP that shows lower tempos don’t mean lower intensity.
