Responsible for the production of many classic UK hardcore records throughout the early ’90s, Ron Wells’ style of production is instantly recognisable. Having a multitude of releases under the Jack Smooth moniker as well as 20 Hurts, 4 Reel and Celestial Circuits in recent times, his latest one here comes courtesy of Brighton’s Furthur Electronix titled PH Scales – the third part in a series. Features four cuts rich in old school analogue soul: from the emotive acid wiggle of ‘Dreamstate’ or ‘Erecaecous’ on the A side, which will hypnotise you into submission with their suave 303 antics to a backdrop of ethereal elements. Over on the flip, it’s all about the evocative sunset breaks of «September».
