Marcus Paulson – E.P. 2

Marcus Paulson brings some UK flavours to French label Partout. He is someone who has been kicking out quality house and techno on the likes of Quintessentials, MOS and Acid Cuts in recent years, and was last on this label two years ago with the first part of this series. He gets underway with ‘Acid Heat’, which marries busy acid lines and jacked up Chicago drums with a distant synth gaze. ‘Summer Paranoia’ is more turbulent with anxiety-inducing synth motifs and darker drums and bass. ‘Warm Tracks’ offers a moment to sink into deep reflection amongst smoother chord work, and ’28’ is a final ode to the Windy City with its misty pads and frayed drums.
