Methusalem ‎– Journey Into The Unknown

The official re-release of a scarce DJs’ classic. Ralf Nowy produced Methusalem’s unique mix of Krautrock, space disco and proto-techno in Berlin in 1980. The collaboration also featured famous German star producer Jack White and Tom Miller, as well as Vicky Brown from the UK as guest singer, whom had by then previously worked with the likes of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters and Bryan Ferry. Deliberating on the various allegorical figures of cybernetized modernity – with track titles like ‘Alien’, ‘Zombie’, ‘Robotism’ – this is a uniquely future-facing combination of all the then-contemporary sounds, though its Moogy quality and quaint sound effects mean it could’ve just as easily doubled up as a far funkier Forbidden Planet OST rescore.
