NTTR-909 – TAR 18

The latest release on TH Tar Hallow finds long-standing techno explorers Nihad Tule and Roseen linking up for a collaborative EP of no-nonsense hardware jams that capture the energy of live techno in its raw essence. Whether these tracks were made on hardware of even jammed out is a moot point – either way they bristle with that energy as the sequences flicker and the effects warp and weave with a hand-wrought energy. There’s funk in the bones of ‘Rebound’ thanks to a tightly-spring swing, while ‘Odyssey’ tunnels downwards with linear precision. ‘Hyperbell’ is more of a tense, looping psyche-out, and ‘Dialogue’ focuses on edgy high frequency bleeps to create its own manic intensity.
