Pepito – Mis Recuerdos

Four years on from the label’s vinyl debut, sometime techno, breaks and ekectro outfit Positive Future has decided to launch a new occasional offshoot dedicated to deep house – Positive Future Originals. For release number one, the Parisian imprint has tapped up locally-based producer Pepito. He sets out his stall on side A, where the classic, garage-house-influenced deep house warmth of ‘Transition’, where male and female spoken. Word samples rubs shoulders with classy keys amd spacey synths, is followed by the lightly jazzy, bass-heavy polish of ‘Smooth City’. You’ll find three more reasons to be cheerful on side: loose-limbed broken house shuffler ‘Super Promo’, the tech-tinged early morning hypnotism of ‘Nova’, and the New Jersey deep house influenced excellence of ‘Vorspiel’.
