Rowan – Dream Travel EP

Following much admired outings from Rokko and Nathan Hormann, Munich’s fast-rising Magic Water label turns to rising star Vitor Rompante AKA Rowan. His four-track, vinyl-only label debut explores a sound beloved to thousands: deeply psychedelic progressive house inspired by the genre’s formative, trance-inducing years in the early 1990s. Check first breakbeat-powered opener ‘Booster’ – all spacey synth-bass, intergalactic electronics and bleeping melodic motifs – before wrapping your ears around psychedelic proto-trance throb-job ‘Castle In The Sky’. Rompante leans more into the hallucinatory power of swirling noises and angular TB-303 acid lines on the excellent ‘Emergency on Planet Earth’, before reaching for ethereal lead lines, delay-laden synth-bass and shroom-powered sonics on closing cut ‘Kindred Spirit’.
