Sweetness – If We Will Take The Time

As soon as you hit play on this one all your cares are washed away. Dutch trio Sweetness originally dropped this one back in 1982 and it has since bode a classic of the soul-boogie era. The music was written and produced by Richard Misseijer and Jos Soethout and are perfect embodiments of this sound. One of the genres rarest records, it has been officially remastered and reissued here by the baby bird Emilian-Neapolitan label Baba Records. ‘If We Will Take The Time’ is the real treasure with its glorious arrangement, funky rolling bass and aching female vocals. ‘Can’t Tell You Why’ has a more upbeat feel with leggy drum funk.
