Various – Robot Connection #002

The second Robot Connection volume wires us up good, as four producers with different slants on electro knit up a nice 12″ twine through Electro Music Coalition. Russian artist Larionov, who has been refining his wiry machine-funk across labels like Mechatronica and Rotterhague, appears alongside Sergey Timoshov, a fellow Russian digging into darker, more mechanical grooves. Italian duo Teslasonic, known for coldwave atmosfears and robust drum programming, deliver another slice of synthetic propulsion, while US producer Ole Mic Odd closes with his trademark blend of old-school breaks and jagged synth riffs. Taken together, Robot Connection 002 extends the collective’s focus on international currents in electro, tying together sharp minimalism, noir textures and funked-up circuitry.
