Vedanā – Epiphany

Leeds-born, New Zealand-based producer Vedana makes a strong statement with this four-track entry on Modeight, distilling years of DJ experience into tightly focused, rhythm-forward minimal house. ‘Epiphany’ opens with rolling basslines and clipped modular flutters-stripped-back but full of motion, equally suited to warm-ups or early peak-time. ‘Flawless Victory’ ups the intensity with bold, swung percussion and pressurised atmospheres, creating a sense of constant propulsion without overcrowding the mix. On the flip, ‘Onomatopoeia’ is the standout: playful, dry, and tightly looped, with synthetic stabs landing like punctuation across its lean groove. Closing cut ‘Present In The Culture’ brings a denser, more immersive touch-layers of filtered textures and dubby pulses pushing into more hypnotic territory. It’s a confident, well-paced release from a producer rooted in the club, but dialled into the studio-raw yet exacting, and built with dancers in mind.
